Delete your Moodella data

Moodella has no accounts. Your journal is on your phone and in the backups you chose, so you delete it there, yourself: nothing of it is on our server. You don't need to write to us, and you don't need the app to read this page.
Deleting can't be undone. If you want a copy, export your journal first: in the app, Settings → Backup → Export my journal.
1. Delete the data on your phone
In Moodella, open Settings and choose “Delete all data on this phone”. It deletes your journal, readings, reminder and settings from this phone and, if Google Drive backup is on, this phone's Drive backups. Backups from your other phones stay, unless you also tick “Also delete backups from other phones”. If Google Drive backup is on or you tick that box, and afterwards no Moodella backup is left in your Drive, Moodella also asks Google to remove its access to your Drive.
Uninstalling the app also removes its copy on the phone, but not your backups in your Google account.
2. Delete your Google Drive backups
- In the app: Settings → Backup → “Delete all Moodella backups in Drive”. To delete only this phone's, choose “Stop and delete this phone's Drive backups”. Backups this phone made before Moodella was reinstalled, or before its data was deleted while Drive backup was off, are listed under “Backups from other phones”, where you can delete them. “Delete all Moodella backups in Drive” also turns Drive backup off on this phone; turn it off on your other phones too, or they back up again when you open Moodella on them.
- Without the app: in Google Drive on the web, open Settings → Manage apps, find Moodella, then Options → Delete hidden app data. That deletes every phone's Moodella backups. Phones where Drive backup is still on back up again the next time you open Moodella on them, so turn it off there first.
3. Remove the Android device backup
If your phone runs Android 9 or later, has a screen lock and backs up to your Google account, its backup includes Moodella's data. Android replaces it at the next backup after you delete the data. To remove it sooner, delete the phone's backup in its Google backup settings, or in Google Drive under Backups. That removes the backup of the whole phone, not only Moodella's.
4. Cancel Pro in Google Play
Deleting the data or the app doesn't cancel Pro. Cancel it in Google Play's subscriptions; refunds are requested there too.
5. What we may hold about you
- Your journal and your use of the app: nothing. We hold no journal or usage data about you, and nothing of yours is on our server to delete.
- Emails you sent us: write to legal@tendanto.com and we delete your messages.
- Your order, if you bought Pro: Google Play holds it; we can look it up by its order number, which is on Google Play's receipt email. Send the order number to legal@tendanto.com to see what we have about it. The records our accounts need are kept for as long as tax law requires, and Google Play's own records follow Google's terms.
We answer within one month, free of charge. The Privacy Policy lists how long we keep everything.
